Dr Baba Jibrin Adamu weds Maryam Yusuf Lawal Saulawa

The celebration started from Wednesday 17th of January 2008 with what is called "Kunshi" where the women gather to prepare the bride with all sorts of traditional songs and dances; and ornaments. It was followed by a Reception on Friday the 18th of January, 2008 for only the women, the brides friends and the parents, which took place at the Women Center, located at Multi-Purpose Center in Kaduna from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm.

The actual wedding Fatiha (the religious pronouncement of husband and wife witnessed by well wishers, friends and families) took place on Saturday the 19th of January at the famous Dan Fodio Mosque located at Unguwan Sanusi (behind Government House). In attendance were the Kaduna state Chief of Staff Audie Mohammed, who represented Governor Arc Namadi Sambo of Kaduna state, Engr. Mustafa Bello, the Executive Secretary of Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), the former Governor of Kaduna state and Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, members of the Federal and  Kaduna house of Assembly, Special Advisers, Community leaders like Baba Tambuwal, Generals, members of the Civil Societies including Comrade Shehu Sani, friends from the movie industries like Hamisu lamido Iyan Tama, friends from the Federal parastatals like the EFCC, NITDA, NigComSat and the Ministry of Justice to name a few.

The event culminated with a reception at the Residence of the groom dr Baba J Adamu at NDC Kaduna where friends from both at home and from the Diaspora gathered. There was Akeem Bello, the husband of Senator Iyabo Obasanjo Bello, Dr Yusuf Ibrahim Jimeta, Abiodun Salami the gubernatorial candidate in Oyo state, other friends from London, the US and Canada. The crowds finally moved to the famous Arewa House for a grand Dinner from 9:00pm till 2:00am which speeches, food, music and dances.

Finally, there was the traditional "Buden kai" on Sunday with a traditional songs and dances and so much to eat and dring at the groom's residence at NDC Kaduna. The couple left to Abuja for a 3 day Honey Moon on Monday, 21st of January 2008.
