 Dr.
ENGR Baba J
ADAMU
Baba J Adamu got a scholarship
to study civil engineering in Poland in 1986, while in the Kaduna Polytechnic.
He was the only one selected from Kaduna state from among thousands of
candidates as a result of his excellent WAEC results. He went to Poland and
first spent 8 months in the Lodz language school before proceeding to Wroclaw
to commence studies at the Wroclaw University of Technology. During his
studies, Baba J Adamu has excelled in his class and once in his third year, he
became number one out of all the white students in his year, and he was the
only black student in the department.
He
went on to become one of the best student and completed his master's degree in
civil engineering with excellence. He then
moved
to London, UK but 3 months
later, he was called back by the Polish Government for a scholarship to do his
doctorate degree in Industrial research. He was to determine the stress effect
of bulk materials stored in silos with flexible walls. Dr Baba J Adamu
completed his research work, defended his thesis and was awarded the Doctorate
Degree (Ph.D) in Technical Sciences in June 2000.
