Dr Baba Jibrin Adamu, became the Chairman of the gubernatorial candidate's Forum on 7 January 2007 when it was inaugurated at Arewa House by the Kaduna Partners for Democracy (KPD). All the 16 of the 17 gubernatorial candidates are members of the Forum including the PDP gubernatorial candidate arch. Namadi Sambo and the  ANPP gubernatorial candidate Sani Sha'aban. PRP is not part of the forum. The forum's chairman, dr Baba J Adamu has shown leadership and focus by  leading the forum to the INEC, the Police commissioner and the SSS to see their readiness for peaceful and transparent elections. He has also met other stake  holders and the Governor of the state, Ahmed Makarfi on several occasions to discuss way forward on peaceful transition.

The elections in kaduna were very peaceful and transparent, and the people of the state have spoken through the ballot papers. Dr Baba J Adamu, showed magnanimity by accepting the wish of the people. After the elections, the results were announced by INEC and Dr Baba J Adamu, the Chairman of the Gubernatorial Candidates' Forum in Kaduna congratulated the Governor elect, Arch. Namadi Sambo. "we are truly democrats and in democracy, the people's mandate is paramount. They have spoken and we have accepted their choice of Namadi Sambo as the governor elect and hereby congratulate him and also Governor Makarfi for laying sound foundation for future development of the state" said Dr Baba J Adamu.
